3 Tips for Finding a Solution at the Right Price

If you are in the market for web conferencing software, here are 3 tips for finding a solution at the right price:
1. Understand your primary intended use for the solution:
There are a number of different providers in the marketplace who offer various solutions. The primary differentiator among solutions is the primary intended use - or purpose for which it was designed. The simpler systems that offer just text-based chat or simple desktop sharing can range from a free download to $20-$30/month subscription. Most complex systems, such as enterprise solutions that allow companies to install the solution on the company's own servers and manage it locally with one's own IT staff, will be much more costly.
2. Get a handle on the user features you will need access to:
Systems vary greatly by the features with which they are equipped. Features can include video conferencing, application sharing, live video streaming, text-based chat, whiteboards, VoIP (audio), webcasting, session archiving, and polling/voting features. It is likely that your organization will be able to prioritize some of these features over others.
3. Understand the level of security you will need:
Another major consideration that affects software price is security. Most companies are highly concerned about data security, and web conferencing data is no exception. However, there are many levels of security among the various providers. Whether you need data encryption, advanced user authentication, administrator session auditing, or physical security features will affect the price your company pays for its solution.
